The recent M1 “Mobile-First” Summit in New York City was billed by organizers Nihal Mehta of Eniac Ventures and Gary Moon of Headwaters MB as a cutting edge event for the mobile industry and it definitely delivered on this promise. Our only regret was that with over 90 speakers and dual sessions, it wasn’t possible to hear all of the presenters.
We will delve deeper in individual articles with a number of the companies who were at the event. However, following are some of our summary highlights.
There was extremely thorough coverage of numerous aspects related to monetizing mobile apps and services in the advertising, ecommerce and related fields, with a plethora of highly qualified speakers.
There was a strong participation in the event by sophisticated investing sources, including many involved in early stage funding of mobile providers.
Some of the other specific areas in which there were very provocative presentations, included: the future of wearables and fashion, the health and wellness vertical, the education vertical, connected devices and IoT and mobile publishing. In addition to all of the budding, early stage mobile companies, leading executives and thinkers from some of the industry titans added valuable insights. These companies included: American Express, Facebook, Microsoft, Samsung, Google, Twitter.
The entire event was a beehive of activity, going beyond even the very substantive and meaty presentations, to the networking opportunities. Kudos to the organizers.
